How does TimeIPS work? |
TimeIPS tracks employee labor and related data including jobs, work-orders, schedules, holidays, benefits, tips, piecework units and/or custom data as needed by your organization.
TimeIPS is a network appliance. This means that it's totally self-contained and ready-to-run with no software to install or configure. A TimeIPS server appliance can operate on your private network as a physical or virtual machine, or can be hosted at TimeIPS. TimeIPS network clocks can operate at any location with a network connection.
Managers and administrators access TimeIPS using a web browser from any computer. Employees access TimeIPS either by:
- Walking up to a TimeIPS Network Clock:
Employees type an ID number, swipe or present a badge to clock in, clock out, record attendance, and log time spent on a project or job each day. Optional validation ensures that the employee being clocked is actually the employee present (to prevent buddy punching). Each time an employee clocks in or out, the clock's screen provides immediate visual feedback on the employee's hours worked and available non-overtime hours remaining.
- Using PC/Web based clocking from their computer with a web browser:
Employees open a web browser on their computer (or mobile device with a web browser) and enter an ID number or username/password to clock in, clock out, change jobs and enter custom data you require. Feedback on employee status and worked hours is provided on-screen.
- Calling a TimeIPS Telephone number (ASP service only):
Employees call a TimeIPS telephone number. Using an ID number and PIN, they can clock in, clock out, change jobs and check status.
TimeIPS collects and stores all labor data from employees. Then, reports including payroll exports are built by TimeIPS using the data. To help run your organization more efficiently, TimeIPS includes alerts and notifications, based on the data.
For salaried employees, TimeIPS provides an excellent way to maintain personnel and HR-related information, request and approve benefits and PTO, and keep attendance records for security and other business management needs.
Managers can use the system's easy-to-navigate pages daily to update and edit employment-related information, including employee schedules, hours worked, overtime alerts, job tracking, benefits and much more.

How can TimeIPS save time and money? |
TimeIPS harnesses the power of automation to provide accurate employee time and attendance tracking so you can quickly compute information in preparation for payroll and/or billing. TimeIPS stores the information permanently on its internal storage area, even if the power is turned off. According to reports from the American Payroll Association, manual time card computation and other issues experienced by companies without a digital time and attendance system can cost over $1,019 per employee, per year. TimeIPS can send preemptive scheduled-hours-violation email alerts to managers to help reduce or eliminate unauthorized overtime, early clock-ins and late clock-outs. Just 15 minutes of overtime a week by a single $15.00 per hour (including taxes and benefits) employee adds up to over $292 a year!
TimeIPS offers a rapid return on your investment.
